Book review

During the fall of 1779, the spark of freedom is at its lowest ebb. The fledgling county is so weary of war that a majority of Americans are almost ready to accept a peace that would comprise the Declaration of Independence. In a last-ditch attempt to keep the freedom fires burning, America sends her fleet to attack a British fort on the Penobscot Bay in eastern Maine. Though the Americans possess a superior force, the mission inexplicably ends in total defeat -- a disaster cloaked in conspiracy as infamous as Pearl Harbor. What follows is a court martial hearing that threatens to tear the fragile nation apart. Day after day of agonizing testimony and accusations fail to reveal how the American fleet was lost, until a surprise witness makes a revelation that ignites a powder keg. Captain Artimas Seahawk arrives out of nowhere, and finds himself in the middle of a frantic race where forces of good and evil battle to find a secret treaty that could change the course of history.
